ANALYSIS AND RESULTS

The tables below show the data collected for a researcher attempted to investigate if
tensile strength of fiber reinforced concrete is higher than plain concrete .He prepared 100
samples each and conducted laboratory tests to gauge the tensile strength (refer to table).

For the data :

Plain Concrete

∑𝑥 417
Mean = 𝑛
= 100 =0.417

Mode = 8.1

∑(𝑋−𝑋)2
Varience ,𝑆 2 = 𝑛−1
= 1.474

Standard Deviation , S =√𝑉𝑎𝑟𝑖𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑒 = 1.214184

Fiber Reinforced Concrete

∑𝑥 1515.6
Mean = = = 15.156
𝑛 100

Mode = 25.7

∑(𝑋−𝑋)2
Varience ,𝑆 2 = 𝑛−1
= 16.04168

Standard Deviation , S =√𝑉𝑎𝑟𝑖𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑒 = 4.005207

From the descriptive analysis above, it shows that the highest mean for the numbers of
Tensile Strength (MPa) is 15.156which is for Fiber Reinforced Concrete. Meanwhile, from the data, we
are also can conclude that fiber Reinforced Concrete that are the most using to gauge the tensile
strength.
