I. TOPIC
Information Literacy
II. ABSTRACTION (content)
Information – are data, facts and opinions conveyed about a certain topic or idea.
- is like a double-edged sword. It can be used as a weapon to advance, but information you give out may also be used against
you.
Information Literacy- the reader can identify what the information is for, were to find it when needed, and how to evaluate it.
- this requires assessing and thinking skills in acquiring and evaluating information.
- this focuses on the textual analysis and research skills of a person.
Importance of Information Literacy
1. Makes us more efficient in learning/ absorbing information.
2. Helps us recognize misleading, out-of-date, or false information.
3. We are able identify what is real and relevant not just for school but also for life and society.
Aside from that, I have also learned to be responsible of all things I share online to avoid spread of misinformation. The
lack of Information Literacy will not just affect my performance in school. This can also have a great impact in my daily life.
If I am not informed or if I believe in fake news, I most certainly will be ignorant to current events and not survive during this
pandemic.
