 Paper is the largest market segment for Kaolin; used as extender or filler

 By 2019 the demand for Kaolin in paper will be around 9.50 million tonnes
compared to 9.0 million tonnes in 2014

increased for the period between 1990 to 2012 on average by 3.75% per annum

 Kaolin is mainly used in decorative paints, specially low gloss interior wall paints;
Kaolin being hydrophilic is suited for emulsion paint; Kaolin adds to opacity and
brightness of a paint

 Kaolin typically replaces TiO 2 upto a limit (about 15-20% by weight)

 Kaolin faces competition from CaCo 3
