The article “Risk and Protective Factors for Anxiety Impacting Academic Performance in

Post-Secondary Students” was written in August 2020. It was written by Konrad T. Lisnyj,

Regan Rusell, and Andrew Papadopoulos from the University of Guelph in Canada. This is a

good article to use for my annotated bibliography.

The purpose of this article is to inform people about the negative impact anxiety has on

students. This article is about an experiment using student surveys to see the link between

anxiety and academic performance. It also examines other possible negative effects that anxiety

causes for students. The intended audience is the university system because the authors want

campuses to create more resources for mental health issues. I can use this in my essay to relate to

my own challenges due to anxiety.

This article uses logos to argue its points. It includes multiple surveys with how the 1,053

student respondents feel anxiety impacts their mental health, physical health, and schoolwork.

They also cite any supporting ideas in the references section at the end of the article. In addition

to gathering evidence, the authors emphasize the importance of making resources available to

combat these predicted variables. The authors include possible resolutions to these issues in the

results section.

This article does not have any spelling or grammar errors in it. It also does not contain

logical fallacies and is very factual. All the subjects covered in this article is from information

gathered in student surveys. It is very organized in a report style structure and nineteen pages

long. These authors start with the abstract, introduction, literature review, method, data analysis,

results, and also references to cite information. Overall, this article is a good source for me to use

in my multiple source research essay.
