Nursing informatics is a combination of computer
science, information science and nursing science
designed to assist in the management and
processing of nursing data, information and
knowledge. -Graves & Corcoran,1989

Nursing informatics is using technology, research,

and professional experience to manage nursing
data, information, and knowledge to improve
practice and deliver better health care.

SUMMARY
Today we discussed about nursing informatics- definition of nursing informatics, historical development, goal of nursing informatics, framework
of nursing informatics, application of nursing informatics, advantages of nursing informatics and disadvantages of nursing informatics.

CONCLUSION
Nursing informatics is an extraordinary tool to better improve population health. At present, nursing informatics is an emerging field of study.
National nursing organizations support the need for nurses to become computer literate and versed in the dynamics of nursing informatics

Assignment – Write a presentation on nursing informatics.
