BOTIKA SA KANTO SALES AND INVENTORY SYSTEM

INTRODUCTION

1.1 Background of the Study

Botika sa Kanto is a small establishment located at Broce D.O.S Maguindanao. The drug

store started their business on the year 2017. They have two employees working in their store,

one cashier and the other one is an assistant that takes care or process the customers’ orders. The

Sales and Inventory of the items is done by the owner.

As the business started and up to this day, they perform manual inventory through

physical counts and listing it in a logbook to control the inventory frequently in a daily basis.

Writes down each item sold in a logbook and computes total sales made on that day.

The pharmacy need to implement some form of inventory control system to keep and an

accurate merchandise count as well as for accounting purposes. The pharmacy encountered some

problems as the business prospered. The disadvantages of the manual transaction the

inaccurateness accounting of their sales and recording of their items. There are times their

employees forget to record a transaction or simply miscount the numbers of the items.
Statement of the Problem

The pharmacy’s problem is their manual sales and inventory transactions,

these gives inaccurate information on their items sold and items on stock for

inventory. The current manual transactions also consumes their time a lot.

Scope and Limitations

Scope

The Sales and Inventory System is exclusive for BOTIKA SA KANTO

only and does not cover any other pharmacy except their own other branches. The

system is equipped with security features such as user level access, backup and

restore database. The system also includes product inventory, and sales made by

the pharmacy.

Limitation

The limitation of this study does not include online processing of the

transactions and inventory of the items.
