Customer Problem:

 Increasing number of parents demanding their children be better prepared for the digital
world.
 Cut-down in budgets of public schools. A number of state laws has asked to protect the
textbook money for purchase of digital content as adopting digital content will cut spending
on text-books and workbooks.
 New curriculum- the national Common Core State Standards (CCSS) being adopted in almost
all states and countries.
 The national assessments based on CCSS were due in the academic year 2014-15 and
performance of students in these can be used to evaluate the school and gain funding.
 K-12 educational content is now increasingly available in various formats but the quality of
same is highly uneven.

It is likely that print only textbooks will be replaced by purely digital content r a blend of digital and
print content within 5 years, therefore there is a need for a student centric product which would
enable the students to be career-ready, have better peer-to-peer learnings, is innovated and well
aligned with the CCSS curriculum. Tablets are more intuitive and easy to use as compared to laptops,
and are therefore considered.

The proposed solutions have been provided keeping in mind the following point

 Laptop computers are thought to be very difficult to use. Tablets are easier and can be used
by students of K-8 grades in particular.
 Improved communication mechanisms.
 Easy implementation and therefore, more business and quick money as knowledge and skills
are already existent.
 Provides special attention to individual students and more assurance to parents, therefore
students will be better ready for digital world and their careers.
 Least risk and most aligned with the market needs of CCSS curriculum.
