B) Using my website for Teaching

The website that I created can be used to document the lessons that I thought were beneficial and
could be shared with other colleagues. I can upload my lesson plans and supplement that with
pictures of student work or examples found online. I created my website using Weebly, which
worked out well. However, I would try Google site next time because I like how that platform
allows for sharing of documents easier. For instance, if I wanted to share lesson plans or
assignments with colleagues, students, or parents, everything would be on the same platform and
I would not have to alternate between two. I understand the difficulty of introducing multiple
platforms and having to learn and navigate each one can become very confusing, especially for
users who are not familiar with technology. Sticking to a single platform such as Google will
make it easier for all users. I currently have a website that I use to share information with
students and parents. Now that I have experience with different websites and platforms, I am
considering the switch to Google in hopes to make things more user friendly.

Having a website can be so beneficial in many ways, depending on how the user would like to
use it. I like to use it for teaching because planners can be easily forgotten at school, but students
and parents can still access importance information on the website. Parents can also be involved
with their child’s learning by exploring the resources shared on the website and trying these
activities at home with their child. As I gain more experience in teaching, I would like to explore
the other uses of having a website.
