CRACK DAMAGE REPAIR METHOD ON KEDUNGMUNDU – METESIH

Abstract

Kedungmundu-Metesih road segment is a collector road coincided with the growth environment
of the region Kedungmundu, Metesih, Sendangmulyo districts Tembalang,then the
berkembangan number of people who were in that areaso that road users more years of
growingwith the increasing number of vehicles passing road vehicle Kedungmundu-Metesih
both small and large vehiclesso that the necessary perbaikian routine of funding through the
budget so that the budget in terms of beneficiaries will feel comfortable and safe.Based on
research conducted that damage Jalan Kedungmundu Metesih grouped into five
categories:Cracks (Cracking), distortion (distorsion), Disability surface (disintegration), wear
(polished aggregate) and Obesity (bleeding of flushing)with the repair method using standard
Highways.

Introduction

Road Infrastructure is a very vital need for people living in the Tembalang sub-district especially
in the city of Semarang because roads are access for the community in carrying out daily
activities, even more important is roads as an infrastructure of transportation to support the
community in carrying out their duties to fulfill their daily needs even roads are an infrastructure
of supporting the economy of our society. Therefore, it is necessary to have adequate road
infrastructure for the needs of the community both in terms of comfort, safety and quality so that
people are attracted to the road to enjoy it. To repair the Kedungmundu-Metesih road section,
routine repairs are needed with funding through the regional government budget (APBD) and the
APBN budget even though every year the government spends a lot of funds to spend on
maintenance of national road sections throughout Indonesia, both routine maintenance as well as
periodic maintenance. The Kedungmundu - Metesih road section is a connecting road between
South Semarang and East Semarang. This road is a Collector's road which has a high traffic
frequency. Where the road is functioned to serve transportation facilities and the southern ring
road to Ungaran Semarang Regency. Thus the traffic load that is supported by the pavement
construction in Kedungmundu Matesih is a heavy traffic load and has the potential to damage the
road body. Research on the Kedungmundu-Metesih road section includes damage to existing
roads which can be grouped according to their characteristics which include among the five
groups, namely Cracking, distortion (disintegration), Wear (polished aggregate) and obesity
(bleeding of flashing).

Conclusion

a. The poor condition of the Kedungmundu - Matesih pavement is caused by several factors,
including after a direct visual survey in the field, the road drainage is in bad condition, most of
the existing drainage is clogged (no longer functioning) and covered with soil, the condition
of the subgrade bearing capacity is not good.
b. b. The percentage of vehicle traffic exceeds the road capacity with an average Average Daily
Traffic of above 2000 vehicles, a significant climate condition with a 5-year average daily
rainfall of 1336.51 mm. Based on regional factors, including climate 1 (≥ 900 mm / year).
