AUDIO EDITING INTRODUCTION TO AUDIO EDITING

Audio means reproduction of sound

Sound means to the frequencies detectable by human ear specifically 2oHZ and 20 KHZ.
Audio editing is the production, recording, manipulation and reproduction of sound waves.
Wave - The movement of sound signals NATURE OF DIGITAL EDITING Wave sample
(waveform) Sound waves properties
Wave length-(a)
This is the distance between any point of a wave and equivalent on the next phase. It’s also
called the length of the wave.
Amplitude - (b) This is the strength or power of a wave signal. This is the height of the wave
when viewed on graph The higher the amplitude, the higher the volume.
Frequency The number of times the wavelength occurs in one second. It is measured in
kilohertz (KHZ) or cycles per second. The higher the frequency the higher the pitch.

Reasons for editing audio

 To delete the unwanted waves
