Five Writing Exercise

Write two versions of your biographical profile. Biographical Profile A will provide basic
information about yourself and Biographical Profile B will also include your “emotional truths”.
Follow the principles of Factually Accurate, Imaginatively Written, Verifiable by Others, and can
be Encountered Personally by your readers.

You may interview your parents or close friends. Read your diary or journal if you have one.
Check photographs, your own birth certificate, or similar documents attesting to your existence.
These are valuable sources of facts about you. But mostly, you will have to rely on your own
memory and imaginative understanding of who you are and how you want others to know you.

Write a minimum of 100 words for each version. Have a friend read both. See if you captured
their interest about you. Put an appropriate and eye-catching title to your profile. A profile is
like a snapshot of yourself.
