This conference focuses on the problematic relations between catastrophes and memory in Late Antique,
Islamic and Byzantine societies. Memory plays a crucial role in the way events are perceived, understood

The symposium will be in English and Turkish. The texts belonging to pre-Tanzimat period are particularly

The project covers the Neo-Assyrian, Neo-Babylonian, Persian, Hellenistic, and early Roman / Parthian

The travel grants are meant to improve the career opportunities for humanities and social science
academics in their qualification phase. The scientists conduct a self-chosen research project in at least two
and at most three host countries: China, Czech Republic, Egypt, France, Germany, Great Britain, India,
Israel, Italy, Japan, Lebanon, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Singapore, Turkey, USA. The total term of funding
shall not exceed three months.

This is a year-long, taught Masters which offers a rich and broad study of the Islamic intellectual traditions

34. Sixth Yemen Exchange – Intensive Online Course on Yemen, Sana’a Center and Exchange
Foundation, 3-14 August 2020

The course is designed to provide unique access to information, perspectives, updates and analysis on
Yemen. Participants from around the world will listen to Yemeni analysts, academics, politicians,
bureaucrats, business leaders and international experts to gain insight and a rare first-hand knowledge
about the country from a wide range of perspectives.
