pilot area using well DK-04 as injector.
CONCLUSIONS
• This paper summarizes a basic workflow methodology to effectively evaluate
and implement chemical EOR technologies to revitalize mature water floods.
Starting with an adequate decision framing, availability of data and commitment
of management and decision makers are key elements to perform cost effective
EOR evaluations and implementation is short periods of time.

• Advanced EOR screening methods, identifying field analogs to Dina Cretáceos

Field and preliminary numerical simulation studies were found valuable to
identify most effective EOR technologies and define the decision-risk
framework that facilitated.

• CDG injection in Dina Cretáceos Field will be the first application of the
technology in Colombia. Results of this pilot project will also validate the
potential of CDG in reservoirs similar (analogs) to Dina Field in Colombia.

• The methodology summarized in this paper is part of a larger effort in

Colombia to identify technical and economic feasibility of different EOR
technologies to improve oil recoveries that will contribute to meet Ecopetrol
production goals by year 2015.
