There was a great sense of solidarity
and unity at this year’s Anglican1000
conference. Archdeacon Don and I
joined an ADNE delegation of nine in
Plano, Texas last week.
The Reverends Alex Cameron,
Christopher Leighton (and his wife
Janet) , Deb Leighton, Justin Howard,
Gabriel Beam and Dr. Sam Schutz
were among the 350 attendees at this
conference that’s all about helping
Anglicans raise up congregations
and communities of faith through
encouraging, networking, and
resourcing those who are part of this
missional movement.
Plenary speakers included Tim Keller
and Todd Hunter. We caught fresh
insights, from “field reports” given by
those out in the field planting (www.
anglican1000.org).
Some of those “fresh insights” came
from our own Justin Howard, (Imago
Dei at the University of Maine). He
and I led a seminar on the Anglican
Ministry House Project. We put a
link to Justin’s slide presentation
on our website (Ministries/MHP
Presentation).
The reaction to Justin’s work ranged
from joyful tears to enthusiastic
comments including “(we) were
bowled away by your presentation
at the Anglican 1000 conference on
the wave of new monasticism that
you and the young deacon, Justin,
Christ’s blessings as we shovel out of a snowy month.

the mission mode!”
As a result of our experience at
Anglican1000, we are expanding
the last session of our Small Group
Discipleship Training to include
leadership from Anglican1000 and
opening it up to the diocese as a
whole. Pen the date September 17th
on your calendar and plan to attend.
Let’s be prepared for all God longs to
do through us in New England.

The Imago Dei Fellowship at University
of Maine in Bangor is beginning Alpha
this month (as are many of you!) Be in
prayer for their ministry as well as all
the variety of Alpha programs in our
Diocese. Let us know how your church
is handling outreach, and how it is
proceeding, by emailing us at ADNE@
