1.

Hypothesis: Clients have poor living conditions and low family income which
resulted in the scabies.
The clients have been experiencing intense itching. Blister or pimples like
rashes are seen on the clients skin. Given the poor living conditions and low
family income, the family was not able to treat the scabies as advised by the
doctor.

2. Predisposing Factors
Host Factors: Exposure to scabies; poor living conditions
Age: Four and a half years old and six years old
Diet: Imbalanced diet
Resistance: Lowered resistance
Agent: Sarcoptes scabiei var hominis, a female mite
Environment: Crowded conditions where close body and skin contact
Biologic: Exposure to Sarcoptes scabiei var hominis, a female mite
Socio-economic: Situated in a congested urban community, high cases of
scabies is prevalent, lack of reliable sanitation, imapired drainage system.

3. Ecologic Model
The chosen model is lever model where the is Sarcoptes scabiei, a female
mite an infectious disease that is considered as the agent and is mostly seen in
the given environmental factors. The patient is vulnerable to acquiring the illness.

4. Analysis
The epidemiological lever is chosen to emphasize the role of the Sarcoptes
scabiei var hominis in is the main vector that transmits the disease that causes
scabies. The diseases are passed on to humans through skin infestation of the
mite. The mite burrows into the upper layer of the skin where it lives and lays its
eggs. According to WHO, scabies is a common dermatological condition that is a
common skin problem in developing countries. Scabies occurs worldwide.
However, young children and the elderly in resource-poor communities are
vulnerable to the disease. Additionally, scabies can also be transmitted from an
infected person to another, skin-on-skin contact can also transmit the disease.
5. Conclusion and Recommendation
Scabies is curable with prescription medications that will kill the mites. The
known social, economic and disease burden of scabies is alarming globally.
Diagnosis techniques have become a hope for early detection, however, it is still
limited due to its costs and effectiveness. Thus, effective vector control measures
are essential to target the scabies vector mite where high levels of human-vector
contact occur. Moreover, it is also essential to mobilize local communities and
activate people leadership with continuous active participation of National
Government and Local Government organizations for initiation of preventive
strategies by not only increasing each persons’ awareness in acquiring scabies but
also improving environment sanitation.
