Statement of Purpose(Final Draft)

My name is Chawakorn Thavorntrakulkij; I am currently a grade 12 student at

Mahidol University Demonstration School, often known as MUIDS. Here, I got lots of
opportunities to discover my interest, as they provide us with different elective courses to
attend. So, after I had tried much complex expertise in additional electives, I managed to have
an interest in a business course. Previously in middle school, I was in Assumption College
Thonburi in the English program. Since then, I had developed my English proficiency and
improved my English much further at MUIDS as I met foreign teachers in most of my
classes. My extracurricular activity is joining the sports club at MUIDS. I can do various
sports, including; soccer, badminton, chair ball. But I am not good enough to participate in
the competition level. So I looked forward to improving myself and had a chance to get into a
competition in my future university. Although, I have a family business about chemical
construction that my father is a managing director. Whenever I had free time, I may go to my
father’s company to study how different operations work and gain experience as a leader.
My interest in the business field sparked when I had a chance to took an elective
business course at MUIDS. In grade 10, I took a general business course. There I had learned
general business key terms to gives me necessary information on what a business is and what
elements in the business world I will be facing if I decide to experience this course in the
future. Plus, I had a chance to manage my own virtual business in “Virtonomic” and conduct
a “Student Market,” the student-to-student market fair that aims for students to learn how to
manage their own business and make a profit at MUIDS. Later on in grade 11, I attend an
elective marketing course that provides me with general marketing ideas to get inside the
mind of all consumers’ thoughts. Presently, I am studying skills for a leadership and
management course at MUIDS. This course teaches me how to enhance myself, to be strong
leaders in the future. However, I am interested in the business because of myself and the
people around me. I find myself interest in taking a risk for a better reward. I love to analyze
the choices that I need to decide. People around me are also one of the factors. Since my
father is the head of my family’s company, he wants me to learn in a business path, to help
him when he is retiring.
Referring to my people around me, I believe that my best personal strength is solving
problems quickly and efficiently for the best benefit and without conflict. By any giving
situation and multiple perspectives, I can manage to seek out many paths and find the best
outcome for the problem. But I am lack communication skills. I find myself in a hard time
communicating with others and able to understand my expression. For instance, I can’t teach
my class lecture for my peer to know because I can’t express my acknowledgment well
enough for others.
So far, all of the words I have mentioned show my interest in the business world and
show what career path I want to follow in the future. I believe that a great business person
can maximize the company’s wealth and contribute to society going together. I want to do
good things for others while making money for my family for a better lifestyle. My passion
for studying business is never extinct. I want to continue following my dream as a
businessman and making this world a better place. This is why I chose Mahidol University
International College as a business major.
