Time: 50 minutes

Aims of the lesson:

1. to activate previously acquired vocabulary and grammar structures;


2. to check students’ level of vocabulary and grammar assimilation for the assessed units;
3. to check students’ general progress in the use of the English language.

Objectives:
By the end of the lesson, Ss will be better able to:
1) complete sentences with suitable cooking words;
2) write suitable adjectives;
3) form nouns from adjectives;
4) write correct sentences using the present perfect continuous, using for and since;
5) complete a conversation with the correct useful phrases;
6) choose and circle the word in a sentence.

Materials: textbooks, notebooks, test papers, board


Skills: speaking, reading and writing
Techniques: Exposing, conversation, explanation, reflection

STAGES OF THE LESSON

1. Warm-up

Aim:
- to create a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere

Time: 3 minutes
Interaction: T - Ss, Ss -T
Procedure:
Teacher greets the Ss, asks them about their mood and the pupils answer. Teacher checks the
attendance.

2. Revision

Aim:
- to activate previously acquired vocabulary and grammar structures

Time: 7 minutes
Interaction: T - Ss, Ss –T
Procedure:
T. does a quick revision of what Ss have learnt in the units 8+9. T. addresses them various
questions related to previously acquired vocabulary and grammar structures and the Ss answer.

eg. T: How do you form the affirmative form in the present perfect continuous tense?
Ss: Subject + have / has + been + verb-ing
T: When do we use must?
Ss: When we talk about obligations which come from other people
T: When do we use mustn’t?
Ss: When we talk about prohibition. etc.

4. Evaluation

Aim:
- to check students’ level of voacbulary and grammar assimilation for the assessed units

Time: 40 minutes
Interaction: T - Ss, Individual work
Procedures:
T. hands out to the Ss the test papers and tells them that they have 40 minutes to solve the
exercises, encouraging them to pay attention to the instructions. T gives the Ss the necessary
instructions in order to complete the given tasks.
T supervises the Ss while they work.
