COMPONENTS 15 AND 16 (MODULE 11)

The 2 components contained in this module will deal on the data to be

gathered dealing with man-made and natural hazards and its occurrence, focusing
on the student’s chosen barangay or community, data gathered will have to be
integrated in the DANICA – DRRM in order to accomplish the output as required
for the session

CRITERIA’S AND PARAMETERS

• Include in the document the identification and description of what Man-made
and Natural hazard are.
Man-Made/Caused" incidents are different from natural hazards because they are
caused by some human interaction; whether human induced intentionally or caused simply
from an accident from something we built. On the other hand, Natural hazards are naturally
occurring physical phenomena caused either by rapid or slow onset events which can be
geophysical (earthquakes, landslides, tsunamis and volcanic activity), hydrological (avalanches
and floods), climatological (extreme temperatures, drought and wildfires) and etc.

• Identify the local hazards occurring within the barangay and community you
have chosen.
Due to the location of the barangay Panapaan 1 to coastal areas, tsunami is one of the
possible local hazards in the community.

• Acquisition of hazard maps, plans, and charts, thru E-link sources
