Dear School Family,

The Dayton Christian School System exists for you, the education of your children and the furthering of God’s
kingdom. We are honored to partner with you in one of the most important investments that you will make: the
Christ-focused education of your child. Thank you for embracing your Biblical responsibility to “... teach them
diligently (God's laws) to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by
the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise” (Deuteronomy 6:7 ESV). The development of a Biblical
world-view will yield eternal rewards through a school system that is striving to be excellent in every aspect.

Therefore, it is with great excitement that by mid February 2011, we will launch the new Online Re-
Registration procedure. This school improvement tool will significantly simplify the process for you, our
parents, as well as improve internal efficiency and accuracy.

In light of our renewed commitment for solid financial stewardship, the DCSS Board has approved a 5.5% tuition
increase for 2011/2012. However, we have worked hard to greatly simplify the pricing through the elimination
and reduction of many of our fees.

DCSS has historically charged separately for tuition, certain activity fees and books. With only a few exceptions,
now your tuition will be an all-encompassing amount. We have eliminated many of the fees which were
typically charged throughout the academic year including art, computer, industrial technology, teacher assistant
ministry, practicum, band, choir, home economics, testing for intervention and other class room fees. We have
also reduced the re-registration fee by 50%. The 7-12th grade athletic and drama participation fees are
decreased by $25 per activity. The Intervention-Only Plan fee of $50 has been eliminated. Also, the fee for
not participating in volunteer hours has been eliminated; however, your continued volunteer efforts are a vital
part of controlling costs. The attached Tuition Schedule illustrates the new, reduced fee structure in more detail.

I am absolutely committed to improving DCSS. I am also firmly resolved to high standards of financial integrity
and stability. However, those goals cannot be accomplished without your help! We do need you to re-register
your returning students by May 31, 2011 or they will have to enroll as a new student. By having that deadline,
we will be able to greatly improve our financial planning ability, teacher hiring, and student class placement
efforts. Again, an early incentive will be offered to those who register by Friday, March 18, 2011. Also, an
attached referral coupon is available for you to provide to your family and friends to receive an additional
discount off of your tuition. Thank you for being a part of raising the next generation of warriors and ambassadors

 The above tuition amounts NOW include books, basic activity fees and other fees including: Art,

 Those fees which are fines - late/lost book, parking lot violations, Saturday school, violation of
gum/eating policy - will be maintained.
 Fees for special education/intervention will be maintained; however, cost per class will be reduced to
$200, with no maximum cap. The Intervention Only Plan $50 fee is discontinued.
 Fees for advance placement (AP) testing will continue to be charged in an amount which approximates
the actual cost to the school.

 A. Registration Fees – Per Student

Note: The previous family maximum cap has been discontinued for registration.

B. Athletic & Fine Arts Participation Fee

Individuals enrolled as full-time students Grades 7-12 and Option 2 homeschool students who participate
on school-sponsored athletic teams or drama productions pay a flat fee of $125 (reduced from $150) for
each activity. The family maximum cap, however, has been eliminated. Students who are participating in
a servant capacity (e.g., stage hands, athletic team managers) will not be charged a participation fee.

Tuition Assistance: For families requiring tuition assistance, please remember the need to reapply at
www.factstuitionaid.com no later than April 15, 2011.

Volunteer Program: Although the fee aspect of the program has been eliminated, we could not operate without
the dedication of our many volunteers. We trust that you will continue to serve the schools as the Lord leads you
this year and will be sending out the volunteer forms next fall for you to sign up for different volunteer
opportunities.

Early Withdrawal Fee: If you have enrolled/re-enrolled your child and choose to withdrawal after July 1st, you
will be charged one month’s tuition. Faculty and staff hiring plans are based on student enrollment and must be
finalized by early summer.

The above-provided information outlines the revised tuition schedule. Our actual
re-registration process will be online this year; please be looking for more
information for an exact date to re-register your student(s).

DCSS Referral Rewards Program

We appreciate the commitment and dedication your family has shown towards the Dayton Christian
School System. We would like to reward your faithfulness. Do you know families who have
expressed a desire to provide a Christian education for their children? The Dayton Christian School
System will credit your account $100 for each new family who subsequently enrolls because of your
direct recommendation. The new family will also receive a $100 credit. This credit will be applied
toward tuition.

Referral Rewards Terms and Conditions:

 The referring family must have a student enrolled at DCSS and return Part A to the Admissions Office.
 The new family must return Part B to the Admissions Office at the time of their online application.
 The referral credit will be applied within the academic year that the new family enrolls in DCSS.
 There is no limit to the number of families that may be referred.
 The referral family will be notified in writing of credit received when the referred family enrolls.
