Personnel Status

Employees stay in a company for many reasons. And one of it is the hope of a higher
position and compensation in the company.
During the previous discussion we have been provided with how employees change their
status in a company. It could either be through promotion and demotion. However, it is safe to
say that companies resort more on promotion when it comes to personnel status rather than
demotion. it can only be considered in desperate measures if employee, even after so many
interventions, still underperform in a company. However, there were shared ideas that transfer
can also bring about demotion in a certain employee just like in DepEd. When one transfers from
one school to another where the item is not available, the teacher who wish to transfer shall leave
her item position in the school and will carry a lower position available in the school she will
transfer to.
We have also discussed the governing laws in employee separation when in case the
employee is terminated from the company or voluntary resignation. Also, laws providing
provisions on the retirement of employees were discussed. The reporter presented an overview of
the retirement benefits of employees both in the public and private sectors and explained briefly
how they are computed.
Truly, an employee does not remain an entry level employee for the rest of his/her stay in
the company. At some point there has to have a change in his/her status whether it be promotion
or demotion.
