करमूले ि थता गौर भाते करदशनम ् ॥
Transliteration
Karagre Vasate Lakṣmī
Kara Madhye Sarasvatī
Karamule Stithā Gaurī
Prabhāte Karadarśanam
At the top of the hand (i.e. Palm) dwells Devi Lakshmi and at the middle of the hand dwells
Devi Saraswati, At the base of the hand dwells Gauri . Therefore one should look at one's
hands in the early morning and contemplate on them.

Karagre: Beginning of the hand; Agra=beginning
Vasate: Resides
Lakshmi: Goddess Lakshmi; deity of wealth and beauty
Kara-Madhye: In the middle of hand (Palm); Madhya=middle
Saraswati: Goddess Saraswati; deity of Knowledge, wisdom
Kara-Moole: In the base of the hand (wrist); Moola=base
Sthitaa: Sit/Exist
Gowri: Goddess Gowri/ Parvati; deity of power and strength
Prabhate: in the morning
Darshanam: Seeing

अयं नजः परोवे त गणना लघुचेतसाम ्
उदारच रतानां तु वसध ु ैव कुटु बकम ्।।
Transliteration
Ayam nijaḥ parōveti gaṇanā laghu cetasām
udāra caritānam tu vasudhaiva kutumbakam|
Meaning
This is mine. That is yours. That is the way a narrow minded person can
perceive. For a noble mind, the whole world is one family.
