In 1896, Kalayaan issued their first newspaper of the Katipunan, in which they published

among the contents of the poem of Bonifacio titled "Pag-Ibig sa Tinubuang Lupa." The
poem context helps the KATIPUNAN gain more members because of the heart touching
message that the loved and contentment wishes to our motherland was expressed.
According to Jose P. Santos, who wrote the literary work titled "Si Andres at ang
Himagsikan" the year 1938 and was reproduced by Tagalog text of "Ang Dapat
mabatid" in a brief biography of Bonifacio he published in the year 1935, The context
proven that Andres Bonifacio was the real author of the poem titled "Pag-Ibig sa
Tinubuang Lupa" but on the other hand most of the authors argued the work of Santos
and explained the evidence they found in El Archivo Y General Militar de Madrid where
they found documents of a draft copy who written by Emilio Jacinto proven by the
signature of Valentine Diaz who stated " Litra de Emilio Jacinto según manifiesta
Aguedo del Rosario" and by this documents, they said that the book of Santos was just
created by Tagalog text known to generations of Filipino students, was not crafted by
Bonifacio (1896) but for Santos, the historian who first published the text in the 1930s.
The article was real because, at the bottom of the draft copy, they found the Initials of
written in A.B stands for Agapito Bagumbayan. We are also known as Andres Bonifacio.
Because of the controversy, Santos was decided to translate the article back into
Tagalog from a previously published Spanish or English translation.
"Pag-Ibig sa Tinubuang Lupa" was advice to the Filipino people to join the crusade for
Philippine independence. According to Jim Richardson, it was published under the
initials "A. I. B.," which was generally understood to stand for "Agapito Bagumbayan,"
which was a pseudonym placed beneath another contribution to the paper titled "Ang
Dapat mabatid ng mga Tagalog" and that Bonifacio wrote both pieces.
The poem's message has an impact on patriotism and nationalism. All Filipino members
of the Katipunan felt the eagerness to have a KAGINHAWAAN or contentment for
having a real FREEDOM out to the abusive Spaniards System. The poem also
described the loved of our heroes for our motherland.
