The waste and The city

Life with open hazardous waste is like sitting on a bomb. Hazardous waste is
explosive, flammable, reactive, oxidizing, emitting toxic gases that interact with air
and water, and is infectious, corrosive, and has short- and long-term effects on
humans and animals. It is a tragedy that this waste is exposed around us. It is more
dangerous than other wastes, so it is important to study the damage now. How much
hazardous waste is dumped? According to statistics, 10,800 tons of hazardous
waste was generated in Ulaanbaatar in 2008. This means that one person throws
20-30 kg of hazardous waste per year. On average, Europe produces about 40-60
kg of hazardous waste per person per year. About 8,000 tons of hazardous waste
generated in Ulaanbaatar is incinerated, 1,300 tons are recycled and 1,000 tons are
buried. Hazardous waste includes oil spills around car repair shops, everyday
flashlight batteries, computer TVs, refrigerators, car and motorcycle batteries.
Exhaust fumes from vehicles. It is believed that the high levels of toxic substances in
the soot are directly related to the quality of the products supplied by fuel importers.
For example, JICA collected a total of 560 kg of toxic waste last year for 10 months
by filtering soot on 24 public transport buses. The analysis showed very high sulfur
content. Therefore, the study found that filters other than sulfur-resistant ceramic
filters are not resistant. In Ulaanbaatar and other cities, towns and densely populated
areas, hazardous wastes (WWs) containing flammable, explosive, poisonous,
flammable, infectious and highly reactive substances that cause environmental
imbalance are removed from production, services and households on a daily basis.
The amount of waste generated is increasing year by year, and some of it is dumped
directly into the environment along with ordinary and household waste. Mongolia
imports old waste from other countries and is not a hazardous waste disposal site
