Cancer Registry Management (CRM) Resources & Required Readings

This is a comprehensive reading list for the CRM courses. The included textbooks, reference manuals,
and websites are required reading for successful completion of this course. We recommend ordering,
downloading, and/or bookmarking these materials to ensure they are available when needed.

Please note that manuals are constantly undergoing revisions, and since several versions are usually
available, be sure to use the versions specified on this list. Also note that lesson-specific reading
assignments are included at lesson-level within each online presentation.

AJCC Cancer Staging Manual, 8th Edition (3rd printing)


This is available for purchase using a link provided by the American Joint Committee on Cancer.
Note: If you’re currently using the AJCC Cancer Staging Manual, 8th Edition that is not the 3rd printing,
you will need to Download the Updated Breast Chapter.

Cancer Program Standards: Ensuring Patient-Centered Care, 2016


This is available for download from the Commission on Cancer (CoC).
Note: In January 2020, the CoC released the Overview of Optimal Resources for Cancer Care (2020
Standards) which are to be implemented by CoC accredited cancer programs as of January 1, 2020. The
2020 CTR Exam, however, will test on the Cancer Program Standards: Ensuring Patient-Centered Care,
2016 Edition. Although the 2020 Standards will not be addressed in this course at this time, access the
updated standards from the Commission on Cancer (CoC).
