eFlow/IZIP LCD Error Codes

Applies to the 2013 IZIP E3Ultra and E3Metro, and the eFlow E3Nitro.

In the event that the bicycle controller senses a problem in the electrical system, the LCD will display a relevant error
code. The following table details the possible error codes, their explanations, and troubleshooting tips. Lower error
numbers have higher display priority. For example, if the system senses both Error-8 and Error-5, Error-8 will not display
until Error-5 is resolved.

Error Code Description Troubleshooting

01 Overcurrent • Check the connection between the motor and controller. A loose
connection can cause arcing and trigger overcurrent protection.
• Check the connection between the battery and the controller.
• A new controller may be needed due to an internal short.
02 Static current over limit See Error-1.
03 Throttle or TMM signal abnormal • The throttle or TMM signal voltage is above the expected range.
• Expected throttle voltage: ~0–5V
• Expected TMM voltage: ~1–4
• Check connections to controller from throttle and TMM sensor.
• Replace damaged throttle or TMM sensor as needed.
04 No motor phase signal • Communication error between motor and controller, or motor is
damaged internally.
• Check connections between motor and controller.
• Replace damaged motor as needed.
05 Motor hall sensor error Damaged or malfunctioning hall sensor inside motor. See Error-4, and
replace damaged motor as needed.
08 Low battery • Test battery voltage. Battery should show ~41V when fully charged.
Battery should not sink below ~34V during normal use.
• Fully charge battery overnight. If battery does not reach >40V, it may
be damaged or need replacement.
09 Motor blocked Motor unable to spin freely.
10 Current over limit See Error-1.
11 Motor overheat alarm Controller temperature has exceeded ~100°C. Output current will be
reduced until the temperature falls to a safe level.
12 Motor overheat protection Controller temperature has exceeded ~120°C. Output current will be
shut off until the temperature falls to a safe level.
13 Communication error • The display is receiving power from the bike but cannot communicate
with the main controller (located in the bike’s downtube).
• Make sure the bike’s battery is installed and fully charged.
• Check all connections between the display and the controller, the
battery and the controller, and the display and its mounting bracket.
• Remount the display, making sure it engages the mount fully.
14 “Foot error” – Bad TMM signal • TMM starting voltage is too high, possibly because the rider’s foot is
activating the torque sensor during startup. See Error-3.
15 Constant TMM value TMM sensor output is abnormal. See Error-3.
16 EEPROM storage error LCD internal memory error. Return LCD display for repair.
