Distance Learning Electrotechnology
The Chiefs Electrotech module can be studied via distance learning as detailed on the website, link here;

You would then come to college to sit the examination, there are opportunities throughout the year to do this. The topics that are studied are;
DC circuits, electro-magnetism, electronics, AC circuits, DC machines, AC machines.
Other courses needed to be studied at the college are; AMERC electronic principles (3 weeks), electronic navigation equipment maintenance (3
weeks) and radio maintenance (3 weeks), High voltage management level (1 week), HELM operational (3 days). You must also have completed
a ETO training record book, have 12 month sea service out of the last 5 years in an ETO capacity, hold basic and advanced STCW safety training
certificates.
There are no time constraints for academic subjects only for EK subjects.
There is no training book it is a competency record which can be filled in retrospectively. You will only be able to judge which content is easily

be fully completed or a CoC will not be issued.
