Mr. Hanson is married to Kim Hanson, a science
teacher at Piedmont Middle School. Together,
they have three children, Macy, Max, and Mitch.
Chris Hanson diligently serves his
school and community for the
past ten years as an administrator.
Since graduating from
Jacksonville State University with
his first degree in physical
education in 1996, Mr. Hanson
made his way to becoming a
principal at Piedmont City
Schools.
Mr. Hanson started his career as a
history teacher at Piedmont High
School. He went on to be an
alternative school director, 21st-
century program director,
transportation director, and
principal of Piedmont Elementary
School before his current position
as principal of Piedmont Middle

Hanson grew up in Piedmont, Ala., and
attended Piedmont City Schools. As a boy, he
dreamed of working in a position that
allowed him to give back to the community
and school system he loved, now it's his
