International School

The international school leaders came and talked with us and told us how they

operated their school. The core value that stood out to me is “The Challenge of

Integrated Practice and Collaboration.” I know it's a challenge trying to teach kids from

all over. The teachers and administrators have to focus on getting the information into

the kids heads and at the same time they have to make the kids comfortable because

they come from different cultures. The international school was one of the most

informative study trips because I never knew there was an international school that

operated as they do.

A personal strength that I brought to this visit is my knowledge of cultures. In my

high school there was a wide variety of different kids from different cultures and different

nations. I was friendly with everyone from around the world and I feel like I learned how

to accept anyone from anywhere. The international school has people from across the

world and they come from different cultures.

This ties with my future because I never know if I have to work with a variety of

kids from different places or not. I think I am prepared to work with international kids

because of my school experiences. Also the educators from the international school

gave us tips on how to work with people from different cultures.
