Welcome to the MAPEH (Music) Grade 6 Self-Learning Module (SLM) on Rhythmic


Patterns!

This module was collaboratively designed, developed and reviewed by educators


both from public and private institutions to assist you, the teacher or facilitator in
helping the learners meet the standards set by the K to 12 Curriculum while
overcoming their personal, social, and economic constraints in schooling.

This learning resource hopes to engage the learners into guided and independent
learning activities at their own pace and time. Furthermore, this also aims to help
learners acquire the needed 21st century skills while taking into consideration their
needs and circumstances.

In addition to the material in the main text, you will also see this box in the body of

What’s In
Look at the picture and sing the sofa syllables following the Kodaly
method.

You can create good music when you group the notes and rests in their
correct timing. When you group these notes and rests, you create a rhythmic
pattern. These rhythmic patterns determine the movement and flow of music.
Rhythmic pattern is the combination of notes and rests in a given meter. It
is the combination of long and short duration of sounds and silences
or with different time values.
In this lesson you will learn how to create rhythmic patterns of the
different time signatures.
