Writing Review/ Critique: About EL GAMMA PENUMBRA 2015 Asia’s Got

Talent Grand Champion.

EL GAMMA PENUMBRA comes from the word GAMMA and PENUMBRA which refer
to the lights (gamma rays) and shadow. It refers ‘’ the ray of light(behind)its man’s
shadow. It is first founded in 2008 as a hip-hop boy group, that was competing during a
dance contests in Tanauan, their home town within the province of Batangas, in the
southwest Luzon (about an hour drive from Manila). It is a Filipino well-known male
shadow that play by group they are also known for being the winners of the First Asia’s
Got Talent. With that I watched their performance via YouTube and also, I read an
article about this so that I have an idea on it. And it goes down well because the music
that they used was ‘’ The Prayer” and for me it symbolized me as a peace because
Filipino people was a religious one. Their costume that they used was a tight suit and a
prop because they will use a shadow therefore, they did so well especially in dancing
and portraying the thoughts that they want to share.

And I think that the performers main goal was to have its heartbreaking but in a
emotional way, and then one judge commented on how they were amazed by its
performance that time goes by then he said that ‘’ One of the beautiful things that I
watched and I were sitting in the chair and with that I just see the things that I would
never see in my life. I don’t have an idea on this and also, I don’t have an idea how it
works, but you did so well and I knew and it is an absolutely magical. So, the time goes
by they are to push for a semi-final and they tell What they will be doing especially on
their semi-finals, is to dedicate their performance to their nation and that is Philippines.
As if the performance goes by, they have its main goal so that we Filipino people will be
amazed to them and because of that they are also performing what Filipinos are. So
aside from this they want also to give an information what they encountered in the past
years and this tragedy was experiencing in Zamboanga the non-stop terrors that will
leads to death by a many innocent individuals, also the earthquake and the Super
Typhoon in the parts of Bohol and Cebu that many agricultures, houses and also
investments where destroyed by the typhoon. All of these calamities where be shown
through its facial expression or to their performance to emphasis on what the message
all about. In their performance they showed a world-class and a masterpiece that will
open our eyes to a world like, they give us their inspiration even though there is a
circumstances in their lives but they have still a chance to stand and move forward
because we are not alone, but there are people who will help each other by not giving
up even though they are experiencing some Calamities.

Overall, of this performance of EL GAMMA PENUMBRS is to inspire others so that the

audiences may inspire their performance and also to open their minds and we are
willing to help those people who are in needs.
