Diet not only affects one’s physical health, but also mental health as well. It is common

knowledge that obesity is becoming an increasing problem in America. There have been

government regulations to the food industry since the early 2000’s. The most impactful

regulation in recent years was under the Obama administration. The government mandated that

all chain/franchise restaurants provide the nutritional content of food on their menu’s. Why

should the government dictate what you can and cannot eat. The problem of obesity in America

can not be fixed by the government. A change must take a national societal movement towards

healthier food choices.
