 Make every possible effort to provide responsive and affordable financial

products and transformational services to customers.

3.0 MARKETING FEASIBILITY

Marketing Feasibility provides the foundation of the financial section, through the
forecasted demand. It is a continuous and orderly collection, interpretation and reporting
of data from a sample of respondents as to their characteristics, behavior, opinions, or
perceptions about the product. This chapter also shows the variety of strategies available
for promotion and pricing of the product in the market.

3.1 Market Description

This section is about making the content and description of our own market that
provides the customer the name, price, characteristics and authentication of the product
that we want to sell the target market is also important to determine where the company
will put the business in modern society.

The dum•p Company would be built at the right side of Our Lady of Fatima
University Pampanga in McArthur Highway, Dela Paz City of San Fernando wherein
there are plenty of student going in that area to eat. It is also near the gasoline station,
convenience store, offices (such as NFA, DPWH Region 3, and BIR) barangay (like
Sindalan, Del Rosario, Saguin, Baliti) and is alongside the highway where there are

numerous amounts of vehicles passing by every day. The places mentioned can be the
sustenance to dum•p Company since they would be a big possibility that residents,
workers, customers, and students from the said places can be potential customers of
Dumpl-izza from which is a very advantageous thing for the company as it brings
possible profit or sales. Customer like children, teenagers, adults and adulthoods tend to
like a new and unique kind of food for the eyes and camera. As it is very affordable
dumpl-izza is for all customers as long as they are savoring and loving the dumpl-izza but
students/teenagers are our major target customer for the reason that most of the
population of their age group loves to eat pizza as part of the so called “treating their
selves” after a tiring day/week from school. The product has a health benefits to the
consumers because this product ingredient has vegetable/fruit. The taste and company
service have a good quality and the product can be a comfort food for the students and
workers especially to those individuals that tend to stress eat during hard times. This
product is suitable for all kind of individual in the society since it is an affordable
innovation of product with a satisfaction of taste.

3.2 Product Review

The Dumpl-izza is a unique product as it offers a combination of two (2) snacks

(dumpling and pizza). In the present years, the supply and demand of dumpl-izza is better
than the past years, more customers loved the taste, presentation and appearance of the
product and they are satisfied of it. Its taste and affordability will be the product
competitive advantage which can attract potential customers. Nowadays people are very
conscious on the price of what they buy and/or eat since almost all the products in the
market were continuously increasing in terms of pricing. It is also having health benefits
as it contains pineapple, bell pepper, cheese and tomato (from the sauce). As Pizza and
dumpling being a popular snack food to people it can be the company’s advantage as well
as we provide them both the product in bite size with an affordable prize. On the other
hand, the competitive disadvantage considering that it is a new product in the market and
is a local company which still doesn’t have enough portion in the market and the
company is not well known in the community. Millennial are the main customers of
dumpl-izza who tend to buy foods that are easy to eat and can be found in their

OUR LADY OF FATIMA UNIVERSITY SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL – ABM STRAND

DUMPL-IZZA xxxii

surroundings. They are known for being curious of the taste of foods as it gets more
popular. The market role of dum•p.co is to sell quality food with affordable prices and is
to meet customer’s satisfaction towards the product and the company, to have a balance
supply and demand and have a good reputation or image of the company. Compare to
other business it is unique in a way that we provide innovative and healthy snacks which
is budget friendly for all. Generally, the strength of the company is the flavor of the
product and its price. The weakness of the company is that it is not a popular in the
market because it provides unique product that is new to the people.

3.3 Competitive Review

Dum•p.co competitive analysis is a critical part of the company marketing plan

wherein you identify your competitors and evaluating their strategies to determine their
strengths and weaknesses relative to those of your own product or service. The business
can establish what makes the product or service unique and what characteristics are given
in attracting customers. It's an essential tactic for finding out what your competitors are
doing and what kind of threat they present to your financial well-being. The following are
the top 5 Competitors of Dum•p Company Dumpl-izza:

Figure 3. Yellow Cab Pizza Logo

Yellow Cab Pizza Co. is a pizza restaurant chain based in the Philippines.
Founded in 2001 by Eric Puno, Henry Lee and Albert Tan, Yellow Cab Pizza is owned
by Max's Group, who is also the owner of the restaurant fried chicken chain Max's
Restaurant. The chain currently operates 101 branches in the Philippines and overseas,
including branches in Qatar, United Arab Emirates, China, Vietnam and Oman. Yellow
Cab serves New York-style pizza with premium ingredients and generous toppings which

DUMPL-IZZA xxxiii

attracted plenty of people. One of their strength is the product they serve has an identity
that differs it from another company’s pizza. And that makes it strength because people
love it. We all know it that Yellow Cab’s pizza is not just an ordinary pizza, not a cheap
pizza. It has high quality ingredients that make their pizza delicious. It is without a doubt
that Yellow Cab has a superior brand image. And most of the people patronize a product
if they have a good brand image, with their brand image and quality products; yellow Cab
is already known internationally which makes them a very tough competitor in the pizza
industry. The Weaknesses of Yellow Cab Pizza is that they lack advertisements which are
very dangerous because people might forget about the existence or about the innovations
made by yellow Cab and that could be a reason for their downfall. Yellow Cab focuses
on their New York Style pizza which can be considered very limited for some customers
who wants to try other styles of pizza. It could also be disadvantageous as they sell their
products at a price wherein it is considered expensive to some market. Yellow Cab
disadvantage gives us opportunities and reason to sell affordable and good quality
products.

Figure 4. Paotsin Logo

Every Filipino knows Paotsin, from a merienda to that quick and easy lunch, there
is no denying that the franchise has seen its fair share of profit when it comes to the food
stall industry. Indeed, Paotsin is one of the best franchises for siomai and dumplings
offered at an affordable price but with it the delicacy of the Chinese cuisine. These stalls
are most especially favored by struggling budget conscious consumers, such as college
students, who offer little to no money when it comes to spending it all on school. As
such, Paotsin offers cheap meals at competitive prices compared to rival franchises. One
of their strength is they have some good dumplings with Hainanese rice and budget

OUR LADY OF FATIMA UNIVERSITY SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL – ABM STRAND

DUMPL-IZZA xxxiv

friendly. They serve are delicious Chinese dumplings and rice. The nicest thing about
Paotsin is the affordability of their food. Paotsin also has an exceptional customer
service, they are friendly, and they served well. But they don’t compromise the quality of
the food that they served. Paotsin offers terrific good food and excellent customer
service. They offer beef wanton, shrimp dumpling, crab dumpling, sharks fin dumpling
and many more. The customer can also request if they want their dumpling fried or
steamed based on their taste preference. Their dumplings taste is one of their assets as it
is truly filled with real ingredients in each dumpling and the generous serving of
Hainanese rice at each meal with the spicy chili sauce Filipinos would love. It is
affordable for everyone. Their weaknesses are that Paotsin frying method in inconsistent
which can be a bad thing because they could serve fried dumplings overcooked or
undercooked and it could affect the taste of their product. Since Paotsin isn’t that much
on its popularity and they don’t have much of advertisements they tend to attract less
customers and most of the time their previous customers are always the one dining in
their stall.

Figure 5. Pizza Hut Logo

Pizza Hut is an American restaurant chain and international franchise which was
founded in 1958 in Wichita, Kansas by Dan and Frank Carney. The company is known
for its Italian American cuisine menu, including pizza and pasta, as well as side dishes
and desserts. The Pizza Hut owns and runs about 34,000 restaurants, provides home
delivery services and has kiosks in more than hundred countries, making it the world's
largest pizza chain in terms of locations. It is a subsidiary of Yum! Brands, Inc., one of
the world's largest restaurant companies. The company specializes in the American-style

OUR LADY OF FATIMA UNIVERSITY SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL – ABM STRAND

DUMPL-IZZA xxxv

pizza that till to date no other pizza restaurant has been able to compete. The company
also offers many other food items and side dishes like breadsticks, wings, garlic bread
etc. The restaurant offers a large variety and types of pizzas under one roof and is known
for its innovative pizzas. They have many media partners and use television advertising
that attracts people of various ages. The company has a huge market share; more
customers mean higher percentage in sales that leads to greater profits. The company has
well differentiated its products and has a large loyal customer base. The loyal customers
of Pizza hut feel that there is a decline in satisfaction and other pizza chains and
restaurants are offering much more. It could also be disadvantageous to them as they
offer product with high price and with high time commitment. They seem to have lack of
consideration to the vegetarian lifestyle eaters as they provide less pizzas/foods with
vegetables on it. Pizza Hut lack innovation as they only provide original American styled
pizza to their customers and sometimes it takes time for their pizza to be served to them,
dine-in customer or even deliveries. Another weakness of Pizza hut is that the taste of
their pizzas is there since ages and customers are not satisfied with the same old pizza
taste and there is more interest in wider range of pizzas.

Figure 6. David’s Tea House Logo

In the year 2003, the very first David's Tea House (DTH) opened on Tomas
Mapua St., in Chinatown. It was a quaint and humble eatery that sits a maximum of about
20 people where some of the food was prepared right in the dining area since the kitchen
was very small. The smallness of the restaurant didn't deter dinners that became curious
of the setup as it was one of the first in Chinatown that offered authentic Hong Kong
Style Dim sum, Noodles and Congee at price that are "street level" but with taste that
won over many food enthusiasts and gourmands’. David’s Tea House now has more than

OUR LADY OF FATIMA UNIVERSITY SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL – ABM STRAND

DUMPL-IZZA xxxvi

20 branches nationwide and it is the vision of the company to spread out to an even wider
reach so that many and all Filipinos may know and experience the authentic taste of
Hong Kong. The Chinese food served here is your traditional Chinese fare and selections
with prices that are considered cheap if you are with a group. Having said that, the food
quality and taste is also quite ordinary and nothing outstanding nor something to crave
about. They also offer vegetable filled dumplings which is a good choice for those who
are vegetarian. Its food would be good for those who aren't really into Chinese cuisine. If
you dine in on your own, you'll find limited choices since most dishes are for sharing and
not cheap.

Figure 7. Greenwich Logo

Greenwich Pizza is one true Filipino pizza chain – a small entrepreneurship that
made an extraordinary leap to the big league. What started out as a small over-the-
counter pizza store in the Greenhills Commercial Center in 1971 is now one of the
Philippines’ biggest pizza chains. Today, Greenwich continues to write business history
by consistently improving its product offering and quality through research and
development, as well as continuous expansion of its stores nationwide. It is so noticeable
how Greenwich became such a popular casual dining fast-food restaurant over the years.
This is the best place where you can buy pizza at its best. Now in 2012 there has been a
massive improvement in the quality of ingredients. They provide better bases and quality
toppings with real mozzarella cheese and more vegetables and meat on their pizza. It is
very advantageous to them as they are offering different sizes of pizza from solo to party
sizes with very innovative flavors. Greenwich Pizza provides customer with variety of
pizza from classic pizza to thin crust and overload pizzas. One of their disadvantages is it

OUR LADY OF FATIMA UNIVERSITY SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL – ABM STRAND

DUMPL-IZZA xxxvii

takes time for a pizza to be served on a table and sometimes their pizzas doesn’t taste as
good when it became cold.

affects the community and business and is shaped by social processes. It also states the
economical stage of the people living in a community.

8.1 The Government

For a business to operate it needs to be registered with a government agency and

any other local governments. This allows them to keep the business in check and help the
company execute its other function. It is also the government’s role in business to protect
the consumer or customer and the company employee. Since the government tax
businesses revenues are an important of the government budgets as half of the payment of
their expenditures come from the taxes of the companies and businesses. Some
government will help small business in their area such as offering low interest loans so
that business owners can upgrade the front and exteriors of their stores, increase their
energy efficiency, and more. The government actions in addition to laws and regulations
affects companies, finances, and executives say.
