Project 1: Kapiraso ng Puso Project

Giving is not just about making a donation. It is about making a difference. We
believe that the greatest gift that we can share is the gift of knowledge; one that can’t be
stolen in the minds of every being. It is something that can be enriched and grown. We
are living by this principle that shall be the heart of this project.

Kapiraso ng Puso Project is a learning material giving activity to one of University

of Batangas’ adopted school: Cuta Elementary School located in the university’s adopted
barangay - Brgy. Cuta, Batangas City, Philippines. We believe that textbooks, leisure
books and other learning materials that we can provide will help the benefeciaries to
foster knowledge and pass in onto the next generation of students. It is an undeniable fact
in the Philippines that the textbook-pupil/student ration is still, even at this present year
2019, lacking. This is the very reason for us to take initiative, uplift and motivate the
children for the new hopes of the future. The project will run for 6 months, half of the
academic year from July 1,2021 to December 31, 2021 for the whole preparation until the
actual execution itself as this involves resources raising.

A. Project Theme: “Moving Forward Through Giving Back”

B. Objectives

General Objectives

 The project aims to help Cuta Elementary school by giving references that the
students may use as references for their present and future needs. Some of the
references the benefactors would share are used textbooks and leisure books
Yes, our over 25 million students need books to relax with, books that would
allow their imaginations to soar, Dictionaries, Encyclopedias, Almanacs & thesis
and research works; unpublished or published.
 Enhance the civic-consciousness of the Senior High School students of
University of Batangas as the project aims to give back to the society by
providing the utmost service to fellowmen.

Specific Objectives

 Establish social connection between University of Batangas and Cuta Elementary

School.

 Alleviate (at least) the lack of learning resources of Cuta Elementary school.

 Instill in the minds of SHS students their passion for helping.

C. Target Beneficiaries

The project aims to benefit the students aging from 6 to 13 of Cuta Elementary
School, adopted barangay of University of Batangas.

Many foundations and private persons are willing to donate books—certainly a

tremendous boost, but not adequate, especially since the public school sector has 38,648
elementary and 7,976 high schools. Clearly, the supply of supplementary materials in
classroom needs more help. This is the very reason why these public school elementary
students are our prospect for this project. Another reason is that since the benefactors
would be from University of Batangas Senior High School Department, isn’t it much
easier that the beneficiaries would be their adopted school? Due to this fact, the
organization, execution and funding would be facile.

D. Benefactors

The benefactors would be students of University of Batangas Senior High School

Department in partnership with the University of Batangas’ Community Extension
Services to strengthen the project and gain additional support.

E. Fund-raising & Budget

Assuming that with the partnership with the Community Extension Services of UB,
the expected expenses should be minimal to zero and will probably be for the
miscellaneous expenses so there is no need for solicitation and major fund-raising. For
the sake of preparation, we have proposed a “Piso per Week” saving scheme for every
SHS classes starting from October until December 25 and is absolutely optional. Pledges
will also be accepted. The population of the Senior High School Department is 1,267 and
if the scheme will be followed it can raise a total of Php 13,937.00 on maximum taking
note that it is optional.
Miscellaneous expenses may include:

 Transportation - Php 2,500 [Jeepney roundtrip]

 Advertisement Posters - Php 1,000

F. Duration/ Timeline

Kapiraso ng Puso Project is a 6 months outreach/project plan for the whole preparation
until the actual execution itself as this involves resources raising.

Project 2: Aruga at Kalinga Mula sa Madla Project

Service to fellowmen doesn’t always revolve with feeding programs and gift giving,
sometimes the most meaningful way of building relationship is the most intimate time
you spend with your chosen benefactor. It is always the soul of UB’s core value: Service
to Fellowmen to give back to the society, to give back to the past nation-builders and this,
is what inspired this project.

Aruga at Kalinga Mula sa Madla is a project for the aged and abandoned at Sagip
Buhay Tahanan Foundation (SBTF) , a non-government facility located at Senora De
Guia, Poblacion 2, San Pascual, Batangas that will ran on the whole month of July (as the
preparation month) & August (as the project execution month) 2021. It is a service
rendering activity every Saturday of August for our lolas and our siblings by heart in the
sanctuary. Benefactors/volunteers will be divided into 4 groups that will take shifts
among the 4 Saturdays of August 2021 to promote organization and a systematize flow of
activity to avoid over-staffing.

A. Project Theme: “Kayo noon, Kami naman ngayon”

B. Objectives

General Objectives

 Enhance the civic-consciousness of the Senior High School students of University of

Batangas as the project aims to give back to the society by providing the utmost
service to fellowmen.

Specific Objectives
 Provide help for the staff of Sagip Buhay Tahanan in terms of caregiving, cooking,
and housekeeping for the day of the project.

 Give smiles in the faces of the elderly giving them the positivity of life they need and
the happiness they deserve the best way the benefactors can.

G. Target Beneficiaries

The project aims to benefit those helpless and homeless elderly people under Sagip
Buhay Tahanan - A home for the poor members of society who are aged, sick,
abandoned, handicapped and dying, in Bauan, Batangas. The target beneficiaries ages
from the youngest 36 to the oldest 87 years old and are victims of abuse, abandonment,
sickness and disability.

As a youth we have a vital role in our society particularly in serving our fellowmen.
Since this year is considered a year of the youth, we are extending our hands to serve the
homeless old aged individuals by giving our time and effort to them. We all know that
youth nowadays were swallowed by social media that’s why they are not fulfilling their
roles as the hope of our fatherland. We will give our best to encourage all Senior High
School students to open their heart to serve and give back to the people who once served
the society in the best way they can.

H. Benefactors

The benefactors would be students of University of Batangas Senior High School

Department in partnership with the University of Batangas’ Community Extension
Services to strengthen the project and gain additional support.

I. Fund-raising & Budget

Since this project will benefit the elderly people Sagip Buhay Tahanan , Financial
assistance will be asked from some eligible person who are willing to give donation. We
will also make a solicitation letter that will be given to the residence within the
municipality of Bauan, Batangas who would like to take part and is entirely optional. The
fund that will be collected from each barangay will be kept together with the budget from
previous fund raising projects.

The expected expenses should be minimal to zero and will probably be for the
miscellaneous expenses so there is no need for solicitation and major fund-raising.
Pledges will also be accepted. Miscellaneous expenses may include:
 Transportation Allowance - Php 2,500 [Passenger Jeepney ]
