Oral presentations (5 minutes)

Theme: L♥ve

Give an oral presentation and interpretation of a poem or a song. You may read/sing it
yourself or use different aids. Feel free to choose any artist and song/poem as long as it is in
English. Work with a classmate or individually.

Prepare a manuscript, but do NOT read from it. You can write key words for the body of your
presentation on cards or separate sheets. Practice the presentation aloud, maybe you even
want to record yourself. Make sure you adapt the language to spoken English or you will
sound very unnatural.

Check any technical facilities that you are going to use in advance to make sure that they
work properly.

Think of your audience, so speak clearly and not too fast. Try to sound as you do in a normal
conversation. Keep your eyes on the audience and use your body language. Try to activate
your listeners.

The good listener listens in an active, positive and supportive way.
