STANDARD 1, PART I

Student Teaching Evaluation of Performance (STEP) is the process for preparing and implementing a unit of instruction.

By understanding the community and school environment and the makeup of the classroom, you will be able to strategically meet the overall needs of your

unit you are preparing by the end of week 8.

Review the geographic, district, and school demographics of your student teaching classroom. Utilize the district or school website, your cooperating

Palo Alto is a affluent area with set expectations for their children. Most parents are goal orientated and generally expect their children to meet these goals. The best way to
reach most of these students is to set reasonable expectations that the students can pass while challenging them.

schools.

I do not share a common demographic with the majority of the students. Part of being able to deliver a effective assessment and lesson plan is convincing students that you are
knowledgeable and can be trusted. By creating a strong and solid lesson plan, should help with the differences between the students and me.

The school is ranked 2nd in California and expectations are great for staff. Special Education is expected to be just as successful as their other non special education
counterparts. The students that receive free or reduced lunch prices may also be students who qualify for IEPs. Making sure the students eat and are ready for classes will be
important.
