PROSPECTUS OF BCA

Malda College, one of the biggest institutions of higher education of the state, started its journey in 1944 as an
“Intermediate Arts College” in an old rented building situated on a land, which is at present the Atul Market & Bus
Terminus. The college won the patronage of the academic and the education loving people of the district since the
beginning. Due to their whole-hearted co-operation and support the college was able to be housed in its own building in
a large compound of 52 bighas in 1952. Within 6 golden decades of steady progress, Malda College has attained its
present prestigious position. The Department of Higher Education, Govt. of West Bengal, has recently ranked this college
as a “Lead College” of the district and the University of North Bengal has declared this college as a “Constituent
College”. Later with the inception of The Gour Banga University, it is now affiliated to this University from the academic
session 2008-09.

As a natural consequence of these upliftments the college has been permitted by the University to open new courses in
Computer Education in the Self Financing Scheme i.e. to take these courses students have to pay annual course fees as
fixed by the college authority. Accordingly, the Department of Computer Science & Applications has emerged with the
following courses of study:

B.C.A. (Bachelor of Computer Applications)

This 3 (Three) years Degree (General) course was affiliated to the University of North Bengal, introduced from the
session 2001-2002. From the session 2008-09 it is affiliated to the Gour Banga University. The intake capacity is

divided into 3(Three) annual instalments of Rs. 25,000.00 (Rupees Twenty five thousand) each. Fees once paid will not
be refundable under any circumstances. This amount is inclusive of all University fees and College fees like Examination
fees for 2 semesters, Registration fee, College session charges, Admission fees etc. Instructions are given to the students
in 2 semesters each year, i.e. in total 6 semesters in the total period of 3 years.
