LETTER OF MOTIVATION

I am delighted to introduce myself as Md. SohanSarker, son of Md. ShahalamSarker and Shahanara
Begum. Date of birth 10th October 1996. I am living with my parents. Though I have three elder brothers,
they are married and leading their own lives. My father is a businessman, he is doing Stamp vendor-ship
business and my mother is a home maker. I am the youngest one of my family and still unmarried. This
will be my first experience to go abroad.

I have completed my SSC and HSC in 2012 and 2014 respectively. Afterwards I have completed
Bachelor of Social Science from National University, Bangladesh and the name of my institute is Tejgaon
College, Dhaka. My major was Social Work. I have passed with CGPA 3.13 out of 4 in September 2019.
National University of Bangladesh provided me Provisional certificate on 24th November 2019. During
my undergraduate study period, I had to learn a lot of things from different major and non-major courses.
The theoretical and practical knowledge was very interesting for me at the same time. In the fourth year
of my bachelor program I have completed three months (September 2018 - November 2018) field work at
Department of Social Service at National Institute of Diseases of the chest and Hospital (NIDCH), Dhaka.
I also had a survey experience which I did on Bachelor final year (October 2018 - December 2018). In my
survey experience, I studied on the family problem of the poor people in selected urban areas. After
completing my bachelor degree I was preparing for IELTS because I always wanted to go abroad for
higher education. I took IELTS exam on 7th March 2020 and I achieved an overall 6.5 bands. My
individual scores are L-6, R-6.5, W-6, and S-6.5. Afterwards, suddenly the Covid-19 pandemic came to
our lives. In this pandemic I worked as a Volunteer Social Worker (April 2020-June 2020). I was trying
to raise awareness among people about Covid-19 and collecting poor people data to provide them
financial support in Sher-E-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Now I'm applying to study Master in “Subject Name'' at University name, Germany.Upgrading my career
and keeping my goal, target in my mind University Name, Germany seems to be an excellent and brilliant
place. I chose Germany for my further studies because it is a multi-cultural country and well known for
quality education, apart from that Germany is also rapidly trending towards Social Science. There are also
many other countries which are known for their quality education but I always preferred Germany as it is
not overpopulated, has a very comfortable environment and its climate is very adaptive, just like
Bangladesh. There is no denying that there are many Universities available in my country. First of all, one
has to acknowledge that, the entrance exams are quite a competitive due to the limited number of seats in
Bangladeshi universities. Secondly Bangladeshi universities curriculum is quite different from Germany's
colleges and universities. The most important factor for me to choose Germany is, my need to gain deeper
knowledge about Subject Name and the teaching system of universities in Germany is very good for this
area. However, if I complete my master degree from University Name in Germany, it will help me to get
a better job when I will return to my own country.

After finishing my bachelor, I was determined to study Master in "Subject Name". I always wanted to
work with my own country's people and for this reason I have chosen Social Work in my bachelor.
Master in Subject Name will help me to get closer to my country's people and make better life for them.
My bachelor degree is the same/relevant; it will equip me with advanced knowledge of Subject Name
research principals and methods which is the perfect edition to my past study. This course will empower
me to comprehend and evaluated contemporary regional and global developments and will equip me for
my career in the job market. Moreover, this degree will highly develop my skills and confidence. The
most important thing is that, after finishing this degree, when I will return to my country it will help me to
get to a better position in my career.

I did a lot of research upon the choice of the university. I would be taking my education from keeping in
mind the fee structure, future prospects, skill-set, knowledge delivered and the location. I ended up
choosing “University Name” in the end because it sat well with almost all my requirements. A great and
beautiful location in Germany, nicely designed course structure for the overall development of the
student, great facility and students from the world bringing something new to the table every time. So if I
get a chance to study there, I will meet a number of new people and it will help me to gain different
knowledge from different people.

After successful completion of my course, I will return to my country. I firmly believe that this degree
will fulfill my requirement and in my career it will develop me in a faster way. After finishing this degree,
it will help to get a better position in NGO and Community development job sector. In Bangladesh, NGO
and Community development sector is very valuable. At present, 2554 national and international NGOs
are registered under Bangladesh government such as Action Aid, BRAC, Bangladesh Red crescent
Society, ASHOKA, OXFAM-Bangladesh and so on. The most important thing is that, BRAC is the
largest NGO in the world and it is a Bangladeshi NGO, established by Sir Fazle Hasan Abed in 1972 after
the independence of Bangladesh. BRAC states that it employs over 90,000 people and that it reaches
more than 126 million people with its services. So in Bangladesh, there is a bright future for me after
completing this degree. These NGOs provide a number of good job opportunities for qualified people. For
these jobs they require master in relevant field (Subject Name, Social Science, etc.). So after completing
Master in "Subject Name" from University Name, I will join one of these jobs in Bangladesh.

I am an ambitious person and want to achieve the maximum in life so that I can become successful. My
goal of traveling to Germany is to study only, so that I can begin my professional career in my country. I
am Bangladeshi by birth and I love my motherland because it is the place where I have born. I am the
youngest son of my father and I want to live with my parents, relatives and friends. I have strong
emotional ties with my family members because my parents, as my three elder brothers are married and
leading their own lives, I have to look after my parents in the future. So after completion of my study
period in Germany, I will return to my own country where I will build my career and contribute to the
development of my country.

Md. SohanSarker
