Working at Installations Plus pushes you to do things differently. There have been many

times I have gone out of my comfort zone and done things I would not have been able to do in

my regular life. I never thought that talking to customers would be something that others rely on

me to do, as I would consider myself less talkative in my day to day life. When someone is

counting on you to speak up, you do it.

Professionally, I have grown my professional portfolio even in the short time that elapsed

during my internship. I also find myself being more confident in my day to day life. Being told

that you are an important part of a team dismisses self doubt and allows you to trust yourself. In

a team, it is better to ask for help than to ignore the problem or try to fix it yourself if you have

never encountered the issue. More than likely, someone else in your team has already had the

same experience that you had and can offer important advice.

For example, part of my job is working with clients to select (in this case) the correct tile for

their needs and one client was being very picky and kept changing their mind. Weeks had gone

by and every part of the job had been completed except for the main floor in the owners

bathroom. We went through four or five different tiles, emailing back a fourth with the designer,

the homeowner and I. I was told by one of the more senior supervisors that I had to keep track of

all the emails and samples that I had submitted to cover me and Installations Plus just in case we

installed a tile that was approved but the homeowner decided they did not like, and yes, that has

happened before. However, eventually we did come to an agreement and the homeowner was

happy with the installation.

I am the type of person that makes my job my passion, no matter what it is. What really matters

to me is the people around me have a good attitude and are easy to work with and want to work

towards a common goal. I feel that the expectations I have set for myself during the start of my

internship have been met. I have posted on social media, worked with designers to create

magazine advertisements, worked with designers in the field to create design elements in clients

homes, and I have worked many hours on keeping our computer systems up with current events

forcing members of the team to work from home.

I would recommend working at Installations Plus Inc if you are interested in being open minded

and ready to do what it takes to accomplish the task at hand, even if it requires thinking out of

the box and doing things in an unconventional way. It’s important to remember that there is no

one way to do something and you need to fiquire out what doing things ‘outside the box’ means

to you. Being to to “figuire it out” does not do any good if you dont know how to step back from

the situation, look at all the pieces and form a picture with the peices you are given.

Ths skills I was able to bring to the job were important to me and the team, even if they did not

immediately apply when I started working at Installations Plus. My computer, photography &

graphic design skills allowed me to stand out from the backdrop. Going above and beyond my

day to day tasks is what allowed me to make a name for myself within the company and be the

go-to person for creation of the various advertisements we run and any IT work that may need to

be done. All-in-all, I would not hesitate to suggest Installations Plus inc for anyone looking for a

job in the construction industry.
