When you want to put up a pastry and bakery shop, seven (7) workers are required
in the department or section. Counter Staff is someone to work the front counter
will likely be among your first hires, and it's an important one. Production Bakers,
the heart of your bakery is the production bakers, the people who actually make
your product. Kitchen Help, you'll always need dishes washed, floors swept, sacks
of flour hauled, bins of ingredients re-filled, and any number of other tasks
attended to. Outside Help, You'll also need an accountant or bookkeeper to help
you stay on the right side and perhaps someone to help you with marketing and
promotion.

3. What is the educational requirement for the position?

Educational requirement is needed so that the individuals can fully execute their tasks.
For the position such as counter staff, only high school diploma is needed. Only a
communication skill and basic math skill here are important. The staff doesn’t need a college
degree. However in production bakers, they need a three- or four-year apprenticeship
program for bakers and completion of a college or other program for bakers is usually
required such culinary arts program. For kitchen help, high school diploma is needed. As for
the outside help which is accountant, a bachelor’s degree in accountancy is required. Another is
an advanced position is required such as a master’s degree and a certified professional
accountant passer (CPALE).

Yes, all the position stated above require previous work experience. It is needed in the
business because it helps business to be productive. If a worker has an experience, they are
knowledgeable and the work for them will be easier. Workers already have an edge because
they know several aspects of how the job market looks like. They know how to sustain in a
high-powered environment and to contribute to a company's profit strategies.
5. What are the functions of the positions?

The different positions have also different functions. The function of counter staff is to
greet customers and answer questions about the menu. The production baker’s functions are
to prepare ingredients and food preparation to craft recipes and create baked goods. The
kitchen helps serve ready-made food and drink items, such as coffee, ice cream and pastries
and help the baker in the cutting of ingredients. Meanwhile the accountant performs
financial functions related to the collection, accuracy, recording, analysis and presentation of
financial statements.

Each position has different salary. For the counter staff, the salary would be Php 12
000 per month. The basic monthly pay is Php 10 000 and the monthly allowance is Php 2
000. The annual salary would be Php 159 000. For the production baker, the salary would be
Php 19 000 per month. The basic monthly pay is Php 15 000 and the monthly allowance is
Php 4 000. The annual salary would be Php228 000. Meanwhile for the kitchen help is same
salary with the counter staff. The salary would be Php 12 000 per month. The basic monthly
pay is Php 10 000 and the monthly allowance is Php 2 000. The annual salary would be Php
159 000. Since the account has the higher degree, she has also the higher salary amounted
to Php 45 000. The basic monthly pay is Php 35 000 and the monthly allowance is Php 10
000. The annual salary would be Php 548 000.

2. What benefits should be added to the position?


Our salary packages can include benefits such as SSS, paid holidays, sick time, health
insurance, and paid vacation leave. When a worker works during holidays we will pay double
their daily salary. Whenever the workers are sick we will also provide financial assistance for
their medicine. We are also required to pay for their SSS and give them health insurance.
We will also pay when they want to have a vacation leave; however this should only be good
once a year.

3. Is the position entitled to representation and travelling allowance (RATA)?

The position is entitled to representation and travelling allowances (RATA). It is attached to


the performance of the duties and responsibilities by the incumbents of positions and not to
positions. Those workers who are actually performing the duties and responsibilities of their
positions shall be entitled of RATA.

4. Will the compensation package create imbalance or distortion among employees?

No, the compensation package will not create imbalance or distortion among
employees. Right compensation balance and management will avoid commotion. The business
will explain fully all about the contracts and their salary as well as their benefit so that they
could understand it. Employees each have their own perception of internal equity as it affects
them among their peers, managers and subordinates. If an employee believes they are
underpaid, they will typically react by reducing their effort or performance. But if they believe
