5 Basic Troubleshooting - troubleshoot basic software and hardware problems common in

digital learning environments.
______________________________________________________________________________
Zooming To Virtual Learning was an event that I established to support families and
students in the initial stages of virtual learning. During the first week of school, I hosted
troubleshooting sessions via Zoom to support stakeholders with basic software and hardware
problems common to digital learning environments. This included support for Google
Classroom, One Notebook, iPads, Chromebooks, and connectivity support for school distributed
hotspots.
The Zoom To Virtual Learning support sessions demonstrates my ability to troubleshoot
basic software and hardware problems common to digital learning environments. I
communicated the support session to stakeholders using Twitter, Facebook, Class Dojo, and
email. To expand the impact, I enlisted our media specialist and district technology specialist to
join the effort. Each morning during the first week of school, we provided one-one support
using Zoom Breakout Rooms. I was able to identify problems and provide easy to follow steps
leading to solutions for a variety of hardware and software programs.
While providing troubleshooting support, I developed by understanding of Google Suite,
Zoom, and iPad and Chromebook hardware. It further developed my solution orientation and
ability to focus on details that are often overlooked. It also grew my patience and respect for
the intricacies of technical support, highlighting it as a necessary component of effective
integration of instructional technology. To improve my troubleshooting skills, I will practice
sharing simplest pathways to solutions and provide comprehensible input for all levels of
technical support. Resulting in an growing confidence and self-efficacy are all parties supported.
My troubleshooting experiences have student learning by increasing the access that
students have to digital resources and tools. It also impacts school improvement by increasing
the collective efficacy of our community. This impact can be assessed by observation of student
work and increased student skills in online learning environments.
