GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION OF RESEARCH PAPER

1. The submission of the Research Paper is in lieu of the End Semester


Examination. The Scheme for Evaluation of the Research Paper for 2 nd, 3rd,
4th, 5th year for Academic Year (a) 2019-20 (supposed to be held during
April May 2020) (b) 2020-21 and (c) LL.M. Program is as follows:

Research Paper Written Submission: 60 Marks


2. Rules for Submission of the Research Paper:
i. The Faculty Member will identify the titles of the Research Paper and
circulate the same to the Students. (For Academic Year 2019-20 the
Titles have already been circulated)
ii. The word limit for the Research Paper (excluding the title, abbreviations,
bibliography, etc.) 6000 words and not more than 7,000 words.
iii. Written Submission shall be typed in Times New Roman, Font size 12
with 1.5 lines space with 1-inch margin on all sides.
iv. Soft copy of the Research Paper shall be submitted to the Faculty
Member concerned and a copy marked to the Examination Department
without fail and within the timeline notified by the University.
v. In preparing the Research Paper, the student may seek guidance from the
Faculty Member.
vi. The Turnitin Report has to be submitted with the submission of the
Research paper. .
3. Structure of Title Page shall consist of
i. Cover Page
ii. Title of the Research Paper
iii. Name of the Student, Roll No. and Name of the Program
iv. Subject
v. Name of the Faculty Member
vi. Name of the University and Place
vii. Date of Submission

4. The Research Paper may be divided into several Parts / Chapters (depending
on the Subject) and provide an innovative and creative treatment of the
subject and synergy of law with conclusions and suggestions.
5. The Research Paper is an academic writing by an independent research
includes developing a research question and thesis, document the sources
and writes a description of the findings of that research. The impetus of the
author shall be to take a stand on the topic by providing support for that
position in an organized report. The work shall consist of original research
or an evaluation of research conducted by others experts maintaining the
academic tone.  The Research Paper shall analyze a perspective and argue on
a point with the interpretation or evaluation of the topic. It shall present
students perspective / original thinking supported by the ideas and
information available. E.g. as a Law Student, research by reading many
cases and using the decided cases to support or disapprove their opinion. It is
to build the topic of what experts have already said and analyzed and make a
deliberate attempt to examine the topic. Research shall provide logic, which
shall be inductive by maintaining the quality of the study. The author is
permitted to be innovative and creative in writing the topic and analysis with
freedom from any structured steps/ stages unlike project assignment.
Research is diligent inquiry or examination to seek or study the facts,
principles, theories, and applications and to examine with continued care and
open for further research. Research paper provides a creative and systematic
work undertaken to increase the stock of knowledge.
6. The Research Paper shall be of a publishable quality work and the Faculty
Member shall be evaluating on the quality of the work and ability and skill
of student to analyze the law.
7. The University will publish certain selected research papers.
