5. Reflections:
1. Specific subject concepts, skill, and applications achieved:
 Students will discover the names of the continents.
 Students will be able to identify and locate the 7 continents.
 Students will discover that a continent has many countries.
2. The specific multicultural knowledge and skills achieved:
 Help the students discover how big our world is beyond the country and
continent we live in.
 Discover diversity of our countries.
 Inspire travel to different parts of the world.
3. Level of student engagement and active learning for the lesson:
 Book read a loud
 Video sing a long
 Participation in passing around the inflatable globe
 Sharing favorite continent on their passport booklet
4. Strengths and weaknesses of the lesson:
I feel that some of the strengths of my lesson is engaging the students with the book
which explores different countries. Learning through songs and rhymes is also a
strength in my lesson. This helps the students memorize the names of the continents.
Another strength in my lesson is the participation and engagement with the inflatable
globe, this makes the lesson fun and interactive.
Weaknesses that may present in my lesson could be in the independent part when
they have to write on their own and color because the age group that I chose to target
in my lesson plan in Kindergarten and this age group tends to need a lot more one on
one that an older grade would need.
