 25 Children who are 6-12 years old
IX. Total cost of the Project
 Php7,830.00
X. Rationale of the Project
Conducting community service is a great way to develop one’s self because
you will be encountering different kinds of people and situations and it is up to that
person on how he/she shall face it. Also, the understanding and practice of the
children’s rights to have education is an important element in the preparation of all
young people for living in a democratic society. So, the project “Karunungan para sa
Kabataan” brings up opportunities to share knowledge about mathematics which
most of the people are having a hard time comprehending it and also to learn the
basic knowledge that a child needs to know when it comes to disaster preparedness.
Through this project, bonds will be created with the children and also with the
officials of the barangay. This project will help children gain knowledge on
mathematics to improve comprehensive ability and disaster preparedness to be able to
know what to do when a disaster strike. This project can be a big help to those
children to be prepared and have new knowledge that will help them in the future.

XI. Objectives
 To improve or develop the children’s comprehensive ability or learning ability
which may serve significant in the near future
 To be able to help the children with mathematical problems especially those
who are really having a hard time through sharing one’s knowledge in
mathematics
 To teach the children what there is to know about the disaster and its effects
 To be educate the children on what to do when a disaster occurs
XII. Description of the Project, Strategies and Methods/Plan of Action

The project "Karunungan para sa Kabataan” is a two-part program wherein, the

group who will conduct the said program are engineering students that will be sharing their
knowledge in the field of mathematics through teaching the youth of Barangay Cuta and also
the basic knowledge there is to know for the youth in times of disaster or when a disaster
happens. Simply, a program in which they will be teaching mathematics appropriate for the
youth in order to help them academically and at the same time teaches disaster preparedness.
Moral Values will also be taught.

The proponents or the NSTP-CWTS students, will shoulder the cost of the materials
and supplies needed for this project. The materials will help them in a way that it will make
teaching efficient for the children to learn faster.

1. Gathering of Data
- This is the first step in putting our project into action. This is also the most
essential part since this will help us identify what our goals and methods to be used
throughout the whole course of the project. Aside from observation to the surroundings,
all of the members have also done their part in researching for additional information
and creative ideas that might help our project.
2. Planning
- This part ensures the success of our project. In this stage, we brainstormed and
planned everything that we wish to happen in our project. At the end, we were able to
come up with the details of the project particularly the specific topics and information to
be disseminated in spreading awareness to the participants and also the over-all-run
through of the project.
3. Communication and Coordination
- Communication and coordination are definitely a must in order for our project
to be successful. Not only the group members and the faculty staff, but the coordination
of the parents of the participants is also needed so we could be able to conduct this
project.
4. Tutoring Strategy
- The proponents plans to teach children in mathematics through the ratio or 1:1
or there are certain situation that the ratio is 1:2. It means that each proponent is in-charged of
one child in tutoring mathematics and there are also proponents having in-charge of two
children due to the number of the children exceeds that number of proponents. While in
teaching the disaster preparedness, there will be person/s assigned instead of doing the ration
of 1:1 or 1:2.
5. Task Delegations
- The proponents will each be given a task assigned to them. For the task
delegations, they will be given a code name for this specific purpose only. The code
names are as follows:

1. Talento. Erwin Bernard II A. (Project Leader) - PL

2. Vidal, Maria El Laisa M. (Assistant Leader) - AL

month in which the money collected for that month will only be used for the materials needed
for that month and so on and so forth. In that way, they can also control the budgeting of their
funds whenever they conducted the program.
