Project Background:

San Juan is a fast growing tourism market brought about by the many beach
resorts. In an E.O. 904 dated June 29, 2010, San Juan Batangas is designated as a priority
area for tourism development and declared a Special Tourist Zone pursuant to Pres.
Proclamation 1801 (1978) which declared the whole Batangas Coastline as a Tourist
Zone and Marine Reserve.

The municipality of San Juan is situated on the southern tip of Batangas Province
bordering along the Batangas-Quezon boundary. It is geographically located at 13.49.6”
north latitude and 121.23.8” latitude. It is approximately 43 kilometers east of Batangas
City, the provincial capital, about the same distance southwest of Lucena City, the capital
of Quezon province, and about 120 kilometers south of Metro Manila, the national
capital. It can be reached by land within one and a half hours more or less from Manila. It
is accessible by land transportation within and outside of the municipality of San Juan
and by water transportation using the municipal port at Brgy. Subukin.

The population of Municipality of San Juan is 87,276 based on the 2007 census of
population growing at the rate of 1.53%. It has a total land area of 27,340 hectares and a
population density of 319 persons per square kilometer. It is composed of 42 barangays.
The proposed development in Barangay Imelda, San Juan, Batangas are
composed of four-storey convention center, and resort (floating cottages, multi-purpose
hall, bar, swimming pool and basketball court, parking space, two-storey rentable house).
These are planned to be located in 7.7 hectares, portion of 38.87 hectares property of the
Philippines Associated Smelting and Refining Corporation (PASAR) which was donated
to the Province of Batangas by virtue of PDC Resolution No. 1-2007 “Resolution
Approving the Agreement to Donate Parcels of Land at Brgy. Imelda, San Juan, Batangas
By and Between PASAR and the Province of Batangas” dated February 27, 2007.

The need for the convention center and resort in this part has been in
consideration of the current and projected social, commercial, industrial and economic
transformation taking place in the province. This will also promote the tourism potentials
of the province of Batangas and primarily the municipality of San Juan. This shall
augment or address the lack of state-of-the-art designed Convention Center
complimented by efficient information technology and audio visual systems. The tourism
industry in this side of the province will be sustained and be beneficial thereby generating
more jobs for the Batangueños. Moreover, this project will be generating income and
revenues for the province particularly the municipality of San Juan.

Project Background:

The Municipality of Calaca, Batangas is located at 13˚56” latitude and 120˚49’


longitude at the northwestern mouth of the Luzon Island along the western part of
Batangas Province. It is situated east of the Municipalities of Balayan, Tuy and Nasugbu,
west of the Municipalities of Lemery and Laurel and north of Balayan Bay. It lies within
the southwestern slopes of the Talisay Caldera and the Province of Cavite. The
municipaliaty is approximately 22 kms. from Tagaytay City and 10 kms. from Diokno
Highway.

The International Convention Center is proposed to be located in a 7 hectare land


at Barangay Tamayo, Calaca, Batangas. It is around twelve (12) kms. from Calaca Proper
and 20 kms. east overlooking Taal Lake, South of Alfonso, Cavite and east of Cahil. It
is composed of Plenary Hall which has a maximum seated capacity of 1,000, Multi-
purpose room, Audio Visual Room, Business Center, Other Hospitality Kiosks and
Recreational Areas (coffee shop, restaurant, lobby bar).

The establishment of the Proposed International Convention Center was


conceptualized due to the identification of the Province of Batangas as the growth center
of Region IV. Barangay Tamayo, Calaca, Batangas, the proposed site of the convention
center is within a progressive urban corridor characterized by an orderly and
environmentally – sound setting. It has been also in consideration of the current and
projected social, commercial, industrial and economic transformation taking place in the
province. This will also promote the tourism potentials of the province of Batangas and
primarily the municipality of Calaca.

Project Background:

Cuenca is situated in the main island of Luzon, 86 kilometers south of Manila. It


is located in the eastern shore of Taal Lake with a total land area of 3,378.87 hectares,
bounded on the north by Mataas na Kahoy, San Jose on the east, San Pascual on the
south, and Alitagtag on the west. It is approximately 24.74 kilometers from Tagaytay
City. Based on the 2015 Census of Population, the total population of Cuenca is 32,783,
with an annual population growth rate (APGR) of .0092.

The proposed Natural Park will be located in Mt. Maculot Cuenca, Batangas and
will cover 70 hectares of land from Barangay Don Juan and Barangay 7. Ten (10)
hectares will be utilized from the Peak of Mt. Maculot which is Barangay 7. The
remaining 60 hectares will come from Barangay Don Juan – 50 from the campsite and 10
from Longos. At present, there is an identified 63 hectares public land found in the
campsite that is proposed for this project.

Mt. Maculot is a most popular hiking site located in Cuenca and a busy tourist site
for local tourists all year round. It has two entry points: Brgy. 7 and Brgy.
Pinagkaisahan. Most hikers use Brgy. 7 because of the shorter route to the summit. The
campsite in Brgy. 7, forks to 3 tourist sites namely: Rockies (east), manmade tunnels
(north) and the summit (west). Total trek duration of Mt Maculot is around six (6) hours.
This project will include the construction of road from Barangay 2 to Maculot and
site development of the 50 hectares Campsite, 10 hectares Peak point and 10 hectares
Longos. The land development will include construction of roadways and perimeter
fence; installation of water supply; drainage system; cable car for the transportation of
tourist; Conference Center; Mini Port; Zipline; Revolving Tower and other amenities
necessary for improvement of the site.
