11.(a) A bag contains 4 red beads, 6 blue
beads and 2 white beads. If two beads
were picked at random without
replacement;find the probability that;
(i) Both are of the same colors
(ii) Both are of different colors
(b) Consider rectangular cuboids given below. If
EF = 20cm, FG = 10 cm and
AE = 8cm. Calculate;
(i) The length of EC
(ii) The angle between EC and the plane EFGH

12.A farmer has 10 acres to plant in wheat and
rice. He has to plant at least 7 acres of wheat.
However, he has only Tsh.1200 to spend and
each acre of wheat costs Tsh.200 to plant and
each acre of rice costs Tsh.100 to plant.
Moreover, the farmer has to get the planting
done in 12 hours and it takes an hour to plant an
acre of wheat and 2 hours to plant an acre of
rye. If the profit is Tsh.500 per acre of wheat and
Tsh.300 per acre of rye how many acres of each
should be planted to maximize profits?
