Let’s Analyze!
Explain your ideas comprehensively in answering the questions below. Your answer
must be composed of two paragraphs with 5 sentences each paragraph. Pls. be
guided with the rubric on the next page.
1. Accordingly, culture shapes the society- it is considered as invisible force that
holds the beliefs of people in specific community. With your idea of social status,
ascribed and achieved, what would prompt individuals to say someone is
“uncultured”?
We all know that each of us has different cultures and beliefs. All I can say is we
have differences and common cultures that may know of other cultures and we can't
deny the fact that there are uncultured people. They are the people who don't know
what another culture brings in our society. They are somewhat lack of knowledge,
they don't respect one another culture. Maybe one of the reasons for that is they are
influenced by their environment, the place where they are living.

One thing that I see from uncultured people is their judgment the way they belittle the
other cultures. I can say that they don't educate themselves and they are not aware
of their environment and that may result in them ignorant. Some attitudes are can be
seen as ethnocentrism, the lack of understanding, comparing, and the judgment is
there. Showing gratitude from other cultures is also respecting yours, don't you ever
judge other culture what we need to do is understand each other for avoiding conflict
in our society. Respect, acceptance, and acknowledging other culture is the most
important thing in this world to maintain peace in our country.

2. In relation to question number 1, what would make one conclude that a group “has
no culture,” is it because of the status they enjoy in the society?
Cultured people have good manners and etiquette we can assess those groups who
don't have a culture base on their beliefs and the way they bring their selves in an
uneducated way. Some other people are using their status to degrade a person to
make themselves on top. The way a person enjoys as they grow on the environment
they live in the more individual shapes their culture or even being uncultured.
Therefore, we must be aware of other cultures for us to be respected.

One of the reasons why a group has no culture just because of their environment not
because of their status that they enjoy in their society. People influence and can
easily adapt to their environment once they live in a society that is full of negativity.
The behavior, the attitude that can affect and may bring a big impact on their society.
The discrimination against other cultures will lead to conflict and it means that person

doesn't know what other cultures have. A person or group of people would result in a
conflict in our society for instance, an individual involves treating others differently
and usually negative because of their culture.

3. Is it possible for society to exist without culture? Is it possible for culture to exist
without society? Explain.

Culture and society were linked to each other, they can't break up together and one

cannot exist without the presence of the other. Culture and society comprise some

mutual fundamentals even though the two may not be similar or identical, the crucial

variance is that society comprises people while culture entails knowledge, customs,

ideas, traditions, beliefs, folkways, skills, institutions, artifacts, and organization.

Society is the building block or the foundation of culture and we can't live without

culture for culture has a big part in our society. It is one thing that may help and

describe the behaviors and customs of our society. Society is the product of culture

while society can't exist without culture they are just connected.

Culture naturally arises from a group of people even a newborn baby has a culture

already it will never vanish in our life. In short, culture is society's total way of life.

Culture makes us interesting, it makes us unique which is a great idea to appear as

something else it makes us uncommon and it gives us character. Culture is primarily

what holds given society together and acts as a sort of reference point in any given

society. Here, without culture then a “society” cannot stand to be a society yet.

Social stratification is all about the categorization of all the people in a society and their
rankings. In our life we have are different statuses there are rich and there are poor. You
can see in the picture that the one child is carrying a good item which is the healthy and
wealthy child, while the other is struggling to find food this is just one of the examples
that life is not the same we have a lot of differences in wealth, power and prestige of
different societies, in short, life is unfair.
