3. OBJECTIVES

3.1. General Objective


To develop a traction support bearing that would cater to the needs of PNR through
improved material property and performance.

3.2. Specific Objectives


1. To characterize the existing traction support bearing that PNR needs.

4. SCOPE OF WORK

4.1. DOST-MIRDC shall be responsible for:

a. Characterization of the existing traction support bearing;

b. Coordinating the progress of the project; and

c. Preparing terminal report and other pertinent documents for the completion of the
project.

4.2. Philippine National Railways(PNR) shall be responsible for:

a. Providing all the necessary information of the product as required by the project team;

b. Provide the cost of materials required by the project; and

c. Communicating with the project team if there are changes in any aspect of the design
of the parts.
4.3. Others:

DOST-MIRDC shall conduct the activities stated in Item 4.1 as may be accomplished during
the project duration. Advance activities not yet covered by the official project duration may
be conducted to meet the requirements of Philippine National Railways(PNR).

5. PROJECT DURATION

The maximum project duration is six (6) months after which all activities will cease and the
extent of accomplishment during the period will constitute that of the project. The project will
start upon signing of the Contract Research Agreement.

6. BUDGET AND ASSUMPTIONS

This project will have the following schedule of charges:

7. SUCCESS CRITERIA

Accomplishment of project objectives and deliverables at the projected timeframe.

8. QUALITY ASSESSMENT

The project and the allied activities are free from accidents and that the objectives are achieved
during the project duration.

9. RISK ASSESSMENT

The success of the project will be dependent on the faithful accomplishment of the
responsibilities of both parties.
