Course Description: This course covers review of vector algebra, vector valued functions, func-
tions of several variables, their derivatives and integrals with applications, and calculus of vector
fields: Green’s theorem, line and surface integrals, Stoke’s theorem, and Divergence theorem.

Prerequisite(s): Math1022
Credit Hours: 4 hrs

Course Objectives:
At the completion of this course, students will be able to:

1. understand vector algebra,


2. write equations of lines and planes in space,
3. sketch graphs of functions of two variables in 3-space,
4. evaluate partial derivatives,
5. find gradients and directional derivatives of a function of several variables,
6. use differentials for approximation,
7. use tangent plane approximation,
8. apply partial derivatives to physical problems,
9. evaluate multiple integrals of different functions of several variables,
10. apply integrals to physical problems,
11. understand the core theorems of the course.
