Dear sir/madam

RE: APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AS A DATA COLLECTOR

With reference to the subject matter above, I read your advertisement for a new job opportunity
in your organization on www.gozambiajobs.com with interest and I am writing to apply for the
position of a Data collector.

I am a male Zambian citizen aged 24, a holder of a bachelor’s degree in adult education and
extension studies from the University of Zambia. During the years of my study with the
University of Zambia I carried out an academic research which allowed me to apply what I
learnt into practice while gaining experience in the area of research. I have worked as a data
collector for a qualitative and quantitative research. I have also worked as a community
development officer for my school experiences (attachment) and I was attached to Munali
community development sub-center and my work involved conducting vulnerability
assessment of community schools in Lusaka, designing work plan for students on attachment,
facilitating in focus group discussion and other duties assigned to me by the assistant
community development officer. I am fluently in Tonga and Nyanja.

1
Through these experiences, I have learnt how to manage my work in a collaborative
environment. I believe I am the person you need for this position because of the skills/
experiences I have in collecting raw Data. Working with your organization will give me the
opportunity to acquire more skills while progressing in my career.

For more information about me I have attached my curriculum vitae and other relevant
documents for you to consider. Gratitude is expressed in advance as I anticipate your feedback.

Sincerely,

Alick Chompolola
