transfer patterns found in objects, pictures, and numbers.
Pedagogy Planning

In this interactive white board activity, the children will touch the board to finish the
patterns and learn about the different types of patterns involving objects, shapes, and
numbers.


Pedagogy

Activity The teacher will begin with an introduction to the lesson


and what the students will be doing on the SMART
Board. The teacher also needs to make it clear to the
students that this is an interactive activity, so they
should all be respectful when their peers are sharing
answers.
 The IWB activity begins with different mysteries where
students act as detectives to figure out the patterns.
This will be completed as a class with the teacher
guiding students through each mystery. The teacher will
demonstrate how students can drag the objects on the
SMART Board to create the pattern while the students
tell the teacher what they think the pattern is.
 After the mystery activity, students will be asked what a
growing pattern is, and the teacher will write their
answers on the SMART Board. The students will also
have an opportunity to use the SMART Board to answer
which patterns are growing.
 The next activity requires students to copy patterns. This
will allow students to use the pen of the SMART Board
to draw a copy of the pattern on the screen.
 The lesson will end with students creating their own
growing patterns with shapes and numbers by dragging
the shapes and numbers.
 During the times where students are interacting with
the activity, the teacher will be monitoring the students
gyTechnolo and helping with the use of the SMART Board.
